Candace Cameron Bure Apologizes After Fans Say Her New TikTok Was Too 'Sexy'

Candace Cameron Bure has always faced any criticism regarding what she chooses to post on social media head on. In the past, she’s lightly clapped back when people have been upset about her husband touching her boob in a post and has been straightforward on plenty of other occasions when people have made comments that have not sat well with her. This time, however, after fans thought a post was too “sexy” and “seductive,” she apologized and explained what the goal really had been.

This week, the Fuller House star had posted a brand new TikTok with featuring herself singing and moving to Lana Del Rey’s “Jealous Girl.” She brought in a bible in a movie she felt was showing strength but others thought was “seductive.”

The post also made its way to Instagram for a time, which is where fans seemed to latch onto it and perhaps not in the expected way. Candace Cameron Bure seems to have posted the video and then gone about her day, only to come back to her social media and see a slew of unhappy comments later. It got to the point where the TV star ultimately decided to address her fanbase, explain her intentions, and also touch on where the post seemed to go awry. She said on her Story:

I just came home and read a lot of messages that were not happy with my latest Instagram post that was a TikTok video. And I usually don’t apologize for these things, but a lot of you thought it was weird. I’m sorry that was not my intention. I was using a very specific clip from TikTok and tying it to the power of the Holy Spirit, which is incredible.

Bure went on to note that she had deleted the post from her Instagram page since it had upset certain fans. It is worth noting that some fans behind the post did seem to get the intent of what she was going for. The video is still up on TikTok at the time of this writing and features Bure mouthing words to the Lana Del Rey song, which includes lyrics like, “Baby, I'm a gangster too and it takes two to tango/You don't wanna' dance with me, dance with me.” As for those who misread what Candace Cameron Bure was going for, the actress also said:

So many of you thought that I was trying to be seductive. Which clearly means I’m not a very good actress because I was trying to be strong. Not sexy. Not seductive. So, I guess that didn’t work.

Most of the time, the Hallmark star is a delightful add on social media, sharing posts from her Hallmark adventures and sometimes even doing a little Internet sleuthing herself. But one of the side effects of being active with your fanbase is that they typically aren’t afraid to point out when they dislike something. The good news is that Bure has developed a habit of being open and honest -- even about her sex life -- and this time she was fine dropping the post and moving on.
