Breaking Bad's Bryan Cranston And More Share Updates On Bob Odenkirk After Better Call Saul Star's Collapse

The sixth and final season of Bob Odenkirk’s Better Call Saul is set to premiere next year and since the series has so far seen major success, it will likely close out the chapter in an epic way. However, things on set took a turn earlier this week as Odenkirk collapsed and was rushed to the hospital. While there was no immediate update on his health, Breaking Bad’s Bryan Cranston has now given fans some news, and a subsequent update from Odenkirk's son sheds more light on the situation.

First, Bryan Cranston took to Instagram in the morning on Wednesday, July 28 to share news about his friend and the kind of care he’s receiving:

Today I woke up to news that has made me anxious all morning. My friend, Bob Odenkirk collapsed last night on the set of Better Call Saul. He is in the hospital in Albuquerque and receiving the medical attention he needs but his condition is not known to the public as yet. Please take a moment in your day today to think about him and send positive thoughts and prayers his way, thank you.

Following news of Bob Odenkirk’s collapse, plenty of his friends, fans and costars went on social media to send their best wishes to the actor. When Bryan Cranston posted his message, he noted that Odenkirk's condition was not yet known to the public, and fans could only speculate about his health and hope for the best for the popular actor.

Fortunately, Bob Odenkirk's son, Nate Odenkirk, took to Twitter with an update later on July 28 that, while short on details, delivered some good news:

When it comes to further details on Bob Odenkirk's condition, TMZ cites sources that report a "heart-related incident" was the cause of his hospitalization, and he's reportedly now on the mend despite some uncertainty for the past day. Odenkirk is said to be awake, lucid, stable, and recovering in an Albuquerque hospital, and a statement from Odenkirk's representative relays a grateful message:

Bob and his family would like to express gratitude for the incredible doctors and nurses looking after him, as well as his cast, crew and producers who have stayed by his side. The Odenkirks would also like to thank everyone for the outpouring of well wishes and ask for their privacy at this time as Bob works on his recovery.

Hopefully, fans and well-wishers will respect the Odenkirk family's request for privacy in this difficult time, and simply celebrate that the star is recovering from a scary situation. Hopefully Bob Odenkirk won’t be out of commission for too long and he’ll be on his way to a speedy recovery. His performances on Breaking Bad and Better Call Saul turned Saul Goodman into arguably one of the best characters on TV, due in part to his personality and his overall character.

Prior to Bob Odenkirk's collapse and hospitalization, the latest news on the final season of Better Call Saul was that it would run for 13 episodes and began production in March. It's unknown at this point just how far into the season production is, but the season was never planned to premiere until 2022. It will be interesting to see how each character’s story will come to an end, and what some Breaking Bad fans will think. But at least for now, all that matters is that Bob Odenkirk focuses on his health and his recovery.
