When All American Will Return For Season 4 After Season 3 Finale, Plus The Homecoming Spinoff

all american season 3 finale the cw

Another season of The CW's All American is coming to an end, and fans fortunately don't have to worry about the show's future after the Season 3 finale thanks to an early renewal for Season 4. That said, there will be a wait to find out what happens after the episode that airs on July 19. So, when will All American be back with the fourth season? The CW has already revealed the premiere date, as well as some exciting information about the All American spinoff.

All American will be back for Season 4 on The CW on Monday, October 25 at 8 p.m. ET, and it will be followed by the series premiere of the new sci-fi drama 4400. That means a wait of a little over three months from the third season finale to the fourth season premiere in the 2021-2022 TV season, but at least that's a shorter length than if All American ended in the spring of 2021, like the first two seasons did with their March finales.

Plus, there's more good news on the All American front in the 2021-2022 TV season. Spinoff All American: Homecoming will launch in the coming season as well, with The CW planning on a midseason premiere date that should place the first episode in early 2022. The All American spinoff will be a young adult sports drama like the parent series, but set at Bringston University, where Black excellence is a way of life. Geffri Maya's Simone will be at the center of the action as she tries to fight her way back to the top in tennis after spending some time away.

The spinoff will also feature Peyton Alex Smith, who previously made his big break into The CW programming with a regular role on Legacies, which itself was also a spinoff from another network hit. Smith's Damon will be an elite basketball player from Chicago. Damon and Simone will deal with the highs and lows of early adulthood with no adult supervision. Starring alongside Geffri Maya and Peyton Alex Smith will be Kelly Jenrette of Manhunt, Cory Hardrict of The Outpost, Sylvester Powell of Five Points, Camille Hyde of Katy Keene, and Netta Walker of Come as You Are.

So the 2021-2022 TV season will feature plenty of All American action for fans to enjoy, with Season 4 of the original series and the first season of the Homecoming spinoff. All American was actually renewed all the way back in early February, after just a few episodes of Season 3 had aired. It was a mass renewal of all twelve current CW shows that weren't already ending, such as Supergirl and Black Lightning with their 2021 series finales.

The Season 3 finale of All American airs on Monday, July 19 at 8 p.m. ET on The CW, and will be back on October 25. You can also find the first two seasons streaming on Netflix now.
