Sarah Chalke Teases What's To Come In Rick And Morty Season 5 Ahead Of Premiere

Beth about to kick some ass Rick and Morty

Rick and Morty Season 5 is on the way, and while fans are always excited for new episodes of the Adult Swim series, this season feels different. Creators Justin Roiland and Dan Harmon still have more guaranteed seasons after this, which means there's an opportunity to set up arcs for characters and do many other cool things. Beth voice actress Sarah Chalke was able to tease some of those details, with only weeks to go before the premiere.

So, what secrets did Sarah Chalke have to spill about Rick and Morty Season 5? The actress couldn't say much in her recent interview with SYFY WIRE but did reveal something that should get fans excited about the upcoming season.

It takes all things Rick and Morty up a notch to the next level. We get more family adventures all together and the animation is off the hook. That's all we can spoil.

It appears that, more than past seasons, Rick and Morty Season 5 will feature adventures with the entire Smith family. We've seen some indications of that in the trailer, which showed Rick and the Smiths all suited up in what looked to be some Voltron-like giant robot. Based on Sarah Chalke's statement, that won't be the only time the family gets together, which should be fun.

Especially when considering that some of Rick and Morty's best episodes, such as "Total Rickall," have included the entire Smith family. Sure, watching Rick and Morty go off to some planet where shit goes sideways is always a joy, but who doesn't like watching Jerry be humiliated in front of his children?

The fact that the Smiths will have more adventures as a family is interesting, considering in the past there was always a reason they weren't. To start, Rick doesn't like Jerry, so bringing him along for adventures has never been a high priority. Additionally, Beth and Jerry's volatile relationship often prevented them from being too involved in the story and possibly made Morty and Summer all too willing to leave the house and go wherever their grandpa was going no matter how dangerous it was.

As for other things we know about Season 5, Rick's nemesis Mr. Nimbus will make his debut. We also know that Space Beth will return, which means fans may get some answers as to which one is definitively the clone. We also saw some teases for some wild things in the few trailers that have been released, including a tease of a Hellraiser parody episode. I'm definitely excited for that one, if only because I thought the Cenobites were always a bit freaky.

Rick and Morty Season 5 premieres on Adult Swim Sunday, June 20 at 11:00 p.m. ET. Those already fearing a big delay after this season is over needn't worry, as we've already gotten some indication the wait for future seasons won't be as long as it has been in the past.
