90 Day Fiancé's Biniyam Announces Ariela Is Pregnant, But Is She Really?

Biniyam smiling 90 Day Fiance: The Other Way TLC

As 90 Day Fiancé: Happily Ever After? gets underway for Season 6, one of the couples from The Other Way has made a rather surprising announcement. Biniyam Shibre, who proposed to his pregnant girlfriend Ariela Weinberg in Season 2, revealed the two are expecting their second child, but should we actually believe him?

To fully understand the skepticism, one must first see how it was announced. Check out this video from Biniyam's Instagram Stories that was captured by a fan account before it expired:

The whole announcement is all of 5 seconds long, and there's just so much to unpack. Kissing your fiancé (though it's rumored the two have since married) and then announcing to followers she's pregnant? Biniyam's random announcement is odd enough, but Ariela then follows up with that weird face, and I'm not entirely sure of what to make of the whole thing. Are the two really expecting a second child, or is this just a joke to troll fans?

I'm inclined to think the latter, but only because there's a lot here that doesn't add up. Beyond the weird face Ariela made, it seems as though the couple is in good with 90 Day Fiancé. While the pandemic has likely made filming in places like Ethiopia a little harder for American production companies, I would be shocked if the two didn't return to the franchise via a spinoff, given their popularity. So why does this matter?

90 Day Fiancé tends to keep major announcements about its cast lives under wraps and encourages its participants to do the same. It's why Jovi Dufren and Yara Zaya hid their baby daughter on social media even though she was born well before the Season 8 premiere, and why Mike Youngquist and Natalie Mordovtseva continue to stay silent on their relationship despite clear signs the two seem to be separated. If Ariela was pregnant with her second child, I'm sure the two would've been strongly encouraged by producers to keep that information under wraps from fans.

I'll also add that while Ariela Weinberg reposted many of her husband's recent Instagram Stories, the post about the pregnancy was one she didn't pull over to her profile. Given that, and all of the above stated, I just can't imagine the two are actually expecting a second child. More likely than not, this is just a joke, or perhaps a way to show producers 90 Day Fiancé fans are still invested in their story, and that they need another season.

If there's one positive takeaway from this video, it's that things between Ariela and Biniyam seem better than when we last checked in. In the last update from the couple, Ariela confessed she was upset tthat Biniyam was never home and hung out long hours at his friend's house after work, as opposed to spending time with Ari and their young son Avi. Hopefully, the two have resolved that trouble and are onto bigger and better things in Ethiopia.

90 Day Fiancé: Happily Ever After? airs on TLC on Sundays at 8:00 p.m. ET and Friday mornings on Discovery+. For more on what's happening on that show, read up on what Andrei had to say about his current relationship with his brother-in-law Charlie after a tense exchange last season.
