Looks Like Below Deck’s Feud Between Hannah Ferrier And Captain Sandy Is Still Going Strong

It’s no secret that Hannah Ferrier and Captain Sandy never really got along during their time on Below Deck Mediterranean. They butted heads in Season 2, but when Ferrier was fired by Captain Sandy in Season 5 for having undeclared drugs aboard the yacht, things took a complete turn for the worse. Ferrier hung up her chief stew epaulettes for good last year, and left the Below Deck universe entirely, but it appears that the feud with her former captain is still as strong as ever.

The feud between Hannah Ferrier and Captain Sandy from Below Deck picked up again this week, as the two traded shots at each other over the internet this go 'round. They have been going back and forth mainly about why it seems that the two could never see eye-to-eye in previous episodes. In the final blow response, Ferrier claimed that Captain Sandy was “bringing down half of the yachting community” and pretending to empower women in the industry. See her scathing tweet here:

The bad blood between the two Below Deck alums is interesting, especially given Hannah Ferrier’s recent claims. While on Below Deck, many fans applauded both women for representing their gender in a strong, authoritative manner in what is usually a male-dominated space. Captain Sandy had no problem elevating Malia White to the likes of bosun, and Ferrier never backed down from opposition from anybody. Ferrier and Captain Sandy have two different approaches to management, however, and that’s why their feud is seemingly never-ending.

On the Side Piece with Melissa Pfeister podcast, Hannah Ferrier stated that the feud started with Captain Sandy, who she believes was “competitive” with her on the show and wanted her out “from day one.” But in her response to Showbiz CheatSheet, Captain Sandy hit back that Ferrier’s beliefs are “untrue,” saying,

There’s no competition with Hannah. I’m a captain and she waits tables. There’s no equal there professionally. I think that’s the part that I think really disturbs her, is her ego. It’s sad. I feel for her, this girl still hanging onto that shit I haven’t thought about until you asked me about it.

One can see why Hannah Ferrier had such a huge reaction to Captain Sandy’s harsh words. It comes across a bit as though she believes people who “waits tables” are beneath her. Likely, what she truly meant was that a captain has no one higher than themselves in command, reality show or not.

The war of words is, clearly, getting out of hand for something that happened more than a year ago. But then again, it’s the perfect recipe for the drama for the next season of Below Deck Med. Too bad Hannah Ferrier claims she’s done with yachting for good… but is it done with her?
