Marvel Hawkeye Photo Shows Hailee Steinfeld As A Beat-Up Kate Bishop

There's been talk aplenty about Marvel TV as of late, thanks in large part to the slowly unraveling mystery of WandaVision and an action-packed trailer for The Falcon and the Winter Soldier. While the buzz has been heavy about both of those shows in recent weeks, we can't forget there is plenty of other great Marvel shows on the horizon, such as Jeremy Renner and Hailee Steinfeld's upcoming Hawkeye series.

Before we were deep into theories on all the things that could be happening in Westview, Marvel fans were bugging out about the first pictures of Steinfeld suited up as Kate Bishop. Well, anyone that was a fan of that can prepare to be bugging out all over again after the actress shared a photo on Twitter of her in costume looking a little beat up:

It looks like Hailee Steinfeld is resting up between takes in the photo, and it looks like it could be a physically exhausting scene. The cut on her face appears to be some makeup work and the type of injury found on a Marvel hero after they've been in a brawl of some kind. Fight scene work would absolutely be exhausting, so it's not hard to believe she'd be a bit tired if that's what was happening.

Another noteworthy takeaway from this picture is that Hailee Steinfeld is all decked out in purple and has a quiver so, based on this photo, I think it's safe to assume she's making some progress on becoming the next Hawkeye. At this point, we already know the intention of Hawkeye is to show Clint Barton training Kate into taking over the mantle from him someday.

Whether or not Jeremy Renner's Clint Barton will pass the torch officially by the series' end is unclear. It's possible the MCU could opt to have the two tag-team at being the hero that's good at shooting things with a bow, especially given Barton has his alter ego Ronin, which debuted in Avengers: Endgame. It's still not entirely clear where this series is headed, even if we know a good deal about both characters already.

Obviously, there are also questions about what Hailee Steinfeld's eventual place in the MCU will be as Kate Bishop and whether she'll just immediately be an Avenger or have to earn her keep within the organization. These are all questions I'm assuming will come in the next couple of years, as Kevin Feige and Marvel Studios continue to unravel their story throughout their many upcoming movies and shows. For now, all we know for sure is that Steinfeld seems to be enjoying her time on set, so the odds feel high that she'll continue to portray the hero after the series' arrival.

Hawkeye is still in production, but there will presumably be plenty of Marvel content to hold fans over in the meantime. Continue to tune into WandaVision Fridays on Disney+ and, while waiting for more updates on Hawkeye, read up on the latest Don Cheadle shared about his upcoming Marvel series Armor Wars.
