The Handmaid’s Tale is welcoming a haunting figure to Season 4. Fans have had their share of questions as they wait for the delayed return of the Hulu drama, and now they can add at least one more piece to the Season 4 puzzle. The Handmaid’s Tale has added a Haunting of Hill House star to its cast, and there are already some details!

Deadline reports that Mckenna Grace has joined the cast of The Handmaid’s Tale Season 4 in a curious new role. Grace will take on the recurring part of Mrs. Keyes. Yes, you read that right – Mrs. – as in married. The 14-year-old actress’ character is the (horrifyingly) teenage wife of a “much older Commander.” She is described as confidently running her farm and household.

Mrs. Keyes is said to be even-tempered and devout on the outside while possessing a “rebellious” streak leaning toward the “subversive.” On the inside, she is rife with turmoil and even “insanity.” If you thought that Yvonne Strahovski had frank thoughts about Serena, I wonder what she would have to say about Mrs. Keyes. She sounds like a powder keg readying to explode.

It is unclear who will run into Mckenna Grace’s Season 4 character, so stay tuned. Fans of The Haunting of Hill of House will recall that Grace played the younger version of Kate Siegel’s Theodora “Theo” Crain. She has also played Sabrina Spellman’s younger self on Netflix’s soon-to-be-ending series, Chilling Adventures of Sabrina. For The Handmaid’s Tale, Grace will be taking on a far different role.

Hulu subscribers will be waiting for a while longer before seeing Mckenna Grace, Elisabeth Moss, and the rest of the drama’s cast in action. The critically-acclaimed series, like countless others, was forced to shutter production on Season 4 due to the coronavirus pandemic. Instead of coming back this year, The Handmaid’s Tale will not return with its next season until 2021.

The good news for fans is that Elisabeth Moss has continued to land TV roles, including portraying a real-life killer. On a lighter note, here is hoping that Moss’s dreams of making a Hallmark movie eventually come true. Keep those fingers crossed. On The Handmaid’s Tale front, it has not been all bad news, especially with Mckenna Grace’s casting announcement.

As fans continue to wait for Season 4 to arrive, they did get a speculation-inducing teaser. It is more than some shows have been able to muster as production restarts. Still, it will be a while before Mckenna Grace makes her debut on The Handmaid’s Tale, and fans get to see what she will be up to on it. Being categorized as "insane" could mean a wild ride lies ahead.

The Handmaid’s Tale is expected to premiere during 2021, which puts Mckenna Grace’s debut on the Hulu drama occurring well after this fall’s premieres. You can catch Grace streaming sooner by checking out The Haunting of Hill House on Netflix. Its sequel season, The Haunting of Bly Manor, will arrive on Friday, October 9, on Netflix as one of its new 2020 offerings.
