Flip Or Flop's Christina Anstead Talks About Her Current Relationship With Ex Tarek El Moussa

When Christina Anstead and Tarek El Moussa first split back in 2016, it seemed like the days of Flip or Flop on HGTV were done. And yet, four years after the couple went public with their relationship's collapse, they're still in business together and have found a way to keep the show running.

As for how that process has been, Christina Anstead spoke to People about the current state of their relationship:

I think it’s just gotten a lot easier. You know, I feel like time just makes things easier in general, and we’ve been separated for four years now.

It may still feel fresh in the minds of audiences, but Christina Anstead and Tarek El Moussa have had four years to figure out how their partnership on Flip or Flop works. Now the two have seemingly worked out a good system and found a way to remain civil despite their past and developments in their love lives. El Moussa recently proposed to his girlfriend of one year, Heather Rae Young.

Still though, one couldn't blame either for wanting to go their separate ways. Both stars have their own spinoff shows, and with so many spinoffs of Flip or Flop, it's possible that HGTV could've quietly let the original end if things went south. That hasn't happened yet, and it could be because Christina Anstead said the two of them have always had one priority in making the situation work.

We’re just in a good spot. Our priorities have always been the kids, and will always continue to be, and that’s just what makes things go the smoothest.

Christina Anstead and Tarek El Moussa have two children, a son named Brayden (4) and daughter Taylor (9). Anstead remarried in 2018 to Selling Sunset's Ant Anstead and shares one son with him, Hudson London. It's a loaded family, but it seems all the parents have come together to make for an effective co-parenting unit.

Overall it sounds like the Flip or Flop duo is having happier times, which wasn't the case in the time leading to their divorce. Tarek El Moussa attributed their divorce to a lack of communication, as well as the stress associated with his cancer. El Moussa added that had they had good communication they would've had a better relationship, and it seems like the fact the two are working so well right now outside of the relationship could be proof of that. Everyone seems happy for the time being, so no reason to think Flip or Flop is headed to its final season just yet.

Christina Anstead's spinoff Christina on the Coast returns with new episodes on HGTV Thursday, August 6 at 9:00 p.m. ET. Continue to stick with CinemaBlend for the latest happenings in television and movies.
