Faith Evans Arrested After Domestic Dispute With Love And Hip Hop Star

Cops were reportedly called to the home of Faith Evans and Stevie J this week after an argument allegedly turned violent. Details are still a little murky on what happened, but the end result was reportedly Evans being arrested and taken to a local jail.

According to TMZ, the incident happened at around 1 AM. When cops arrived at the scene, they reportedly saw “marks and scratches” on Stevie J’s face. Evans was taken out of the home, booked and later charged with felony domestic violence. She was released on bond later that same day.

Evans first rose to prominence in the early to mid 1990s. She was the first woman signed to Sean Puff Daddy Combs’ Bad Boy Entertainment label. During this time she also met and married Christopher Wallace, better known as The Notorious B.I.G. Following his tragic murder, she won a Grammy for the song “I’ll Be Missing You” and has been a fixture in the music business ever since, amassing almost double digit Grammy nominations, some acting credits and a slew of charting hits and collaborations with the biggest names in the business.

Stevie J too has carved out his own niche in the entertainment business. The music producer has a string of huge hits in the 90s, producing everyone from Mariah Carey to Ma$e to Jay-Z to Beyonce. He worked extensively with Bad Boy Records, which is where he met Combs, Wallace and Evans, the latest of whom he married in 2018. Since 2012, he has been a fixture on the popular reality show Love And Hip-Hop: Atlanta.

Since what feels like the very beginning of their marriage, Faith Evans and Stevie J have had to downplay rumors, speculation and whispers about their relationship. Exactly where things have stood at any given point is unclear, but the two allegedly stopped following each other on social media for a period of time. He’s also had his share of tweets that raised a few eyebrows, though it’s unclear whether they were even about this relationship or general comments about life. Obviously, this incident will only increase the volume of the rumors, but it’s very important to note the specifics of what transpired here are still very much an open-ended question.

Neither Evans nor Stevie J has commented on the incident publicly, nor have their publicists or representatives. If anything changes on that front, we’ll give you an update. For the time being, however, it seems like these two would prefer to quietly address whatever happened and move forward in whatever way they see fit, without releasing statements or making a big show of whatever is going on.
