Hagen Mills, best known for his television role on the FX series Baskets, has died in what was reportedly an attempt at murder/suicide. He was 29 years old at the time of his death on Tuesday, May 19.

Baskets and Swedish Dicks actor Hagen Mills died in Mayfield, Kentucky, according to TMZ, in an attempted murder/suicide in which Mills was the shooter that resulted in the death of a man and the injury of a woman. The actor is reportedly survived by his mother and his 4-year-old daughter.

According to the Mayfield Police Department (via Facebook), officers who responded to a 911 call on May 19 were met outside by the injured woman, Erica Price, who suffered gunshot wounds to her chest and arm. Price told officers that Hagen Mills was the shooter and had turned the gun on himself, still inside the residence. Price was taken to the hospital and is currently listed in stable condition, while Mills was pronounced dead at the scene.

The Mayfield PD states that Erica Price’s daughter who she shared with Hagen Mills along with Price’s mother were held by Mills in the residence until Price herself returned home and was shot. Price’s mother and daughter were reportedly not harmed.

The Graves County Medical Examiner confirmed to E! News that the cause of death is apparent suicide by self-inflicted gunshot wound, following an autopsy on Hagen Mills. That said, the police department considers the motive unclear, with Sheriff Nathan Kent telling People:

That would be speculative, whereas we are unable to interview the perpetrator.

Hagen Mills' most notable roles were on the FX comedy Baskets, where he played a clown in the very first episode opposite Zach Galifianakis, and Pop TV's Swedish Dicks, both in 2016. His most recent role was in the upcoming horror film Star Light, which premiered in February at the Hollywood Reel Independent Film Festival and will release online on August 4.

Hagen Mills' first credit in the entertainment industry was a short that premiered in 2011, and he continued to appear in movies and shorts over the subsequent years. Take a look at a demo reel showcasing Hagen Mills as an actor:
