Fans of Lifetime's reality show Little Women: Atlanta were dealt a blow earlier this week when news broke that star Ashley "Minnie" Ross had died in a car accident. The original report said that the star, who was 34 years old, succumbed to her injuries on Monday night after being the victim of a hit-and-run accident on Sunday evening. But, we now know that not to be true.

Ashley Ross was involved in a car accident, but she was in a vehicle at the time. Here's the police statement on their preliminary investigation into the accident, which was obtained by People:

The initial crash investigation shows that Ms. Ross was traveling south in a Nissan Sentra on Old National Highway. Her car hit the right-side curb, crossed into the northbound lanes and struck a Ford Focus that was traveling north head-on. Ms. Ross received serious injuries and was transported to an area hospital for treatment, where she died Monday night. The driver of the other vehicle received minor injuries and was treated at the scene.

A public information officer for the City of South Fulton Police Department in Georgia, which is in charge of the accident investigation, added that they now know that this was not a hit-and-run, there was no third vehicle involved, and also said that driving under the influence hasn't been indicated as a factor in the crash.

The accident took place around 11 p.m. Sunday night in or around the Atlanta area. Ashley Ross was transported to Grady Memorial Hospital in Atlanta shortly afterward, but, unfortunately, it was about 24 hours later that Ross died in the hospital from her injuries. A representative for Little Women: Atlanta remembered Ross, calling her "the most beautiful, kind, giving, generous human ever" and noted that she was "adored" by both the cast and crew of the reality series "because she always wore her heart on her sleeve" and would do anything for those she loved.

Several of Ashley Ross' co-stars on the hit reality series Little Women: Atlanta paid tribute to her on social media, including Amanda Salinas, who penned a very emotional post on Instagram dedicated to Ross, which included several joyful photographs and a video of the star during a special time in Salinas' life.

Little Women: Atlanta began back in 2016, as another spinoff of the flagship series Little Women: LA, which debuted two years prior. Former hairstylist Ashley Ross, who was from Tennessee, was an original cast member, along with Briana Barlup, Emily Fernandez, twins Amanda and Andrea Salinas, and Tiffany "Monie" Cashette. Cashette will be returning to the series as a regular in Season 6, which is due to air at some point this year, and she also took time out to say a few kind words about Ross on social media:

It's clear that many people, including Ashley Ross' fellow cast members on Little Women: Atlanta will miss her. Our thoughts go out to Ross' family and friends at this difficult time.
