So many people's emotions have already been stretched to their limits in light of recent events, but tragedy struck this week for the cast and crew of Little Women: Atlanta, whose star Ashley Ross – better known to co-stars and viewers as "Minnie" – died in the hospital on Monday night. She was 34 years old.

On Sunday, April 26, Ashley Ross was involved in a vehicular accident in or around Atlanta near the time of 11:00 p.m., and sustained various injuries. She was transported to Grady Memorial Hospital in Atlanta soon after, according to CNN.

Unfortunately, it was around 24 hours after the accident occurred that Ashley Ross succumbed to her injuries and passed away inside Grady Memorial. The feisty reality TV star is reportedly survived by her mother, her aunt, uncle, grandmother and other family members.

Here's a statement released from her publicist Liz Dixson:

It is with profound sadness that we confirm on behalf of the family of Ashley Ross aka 'Ms Minnie' of Little Women Atlanta has succumbed to injuries from a tragic hit and run car accident today at the age of 34. The family respectfully asks for their privacy as they grieve during this very difficult time.

Although Ashley Ross' publicist Liz Dixson claimed that the accident Ross was involved in was a "hit and run," that element hasn't been fully confirmed as of this writing.

Liz Dixson also had this to say about the Little Women: Atlanta star Ashley Ross.

Ashley was a sweet and kind person with a big heart. She was an advocate for St. Jude and young women. She will be remembered for her contagious smile.

The Little Women franchise, which obviously has nothing to do with the classic novel or its many adaptations, started with the flagship Lifetime series Little Women: LA back in 2014. The show's success led to a number of spinoffs, including Little Women: Terra's Little Family, Little Women: NY, Little Women: Dallas and Little Women: Atlanta.

Little Women: Atlanta wrapped up its fifth season back in July of 2019, with a renewed approach to focusing on the women's careers. Season 6 is expected to air at some point in 2020, with Tiffany "Monie" Cashette returning as a full-time cast member, and recurring star Abira Greene promoted to a series regular. However, it's unclear at this time how much has been filmed, and what Lifetime plans on doing with Ashley Ross' footage.

Sadly, this isn't the first unfortunate tragedy to come out of the Little Women franchise in 2020. It was just in March when Little Women: LA star Christy McGinity shared the news that her prematurely born infant daughter Violet Eva Carazo had passed away.

We at CinemaBlend send our thoughts and condolences to the family and friends of Ashley Ross during their time of mourning.
