Aquaman's Jason Momoa And Yahya Abdul-Mateen II Reunite To Celebrate Projects See And Candyman

Arthur Curry and Black Manta in Aquaman (2018)

Hollywood stars have learned new ways to promote their projects after pivoting due to COVID-19. Social media has become the go-to way to connect with their fans during promotional runs. Aquaman co-stars Jason Momoa and Yahya Abdul-Mateen II have taken that strategy to heart. But instead of promoting them separately, the two colleagues decided to team up on social media to promote their projects, See and Candyman, together. And the result was a delightful reunion between the Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom stars.

Yahya Abdul-Mateen II decided to use his Instagram to give some shine to Candyman while letting Jason Momoa give a shout-out to his Apple TV+ series, See. Of course, the cross-promotion strategy was just as nice as you'd imagine. Watch Momoa and Abdul-Mateen II put their promotion skills and their bromance on display in the video below:

Having Aquaman and Black Manta share the same screen with no animosity involved should be a nice treat for DC fans. Seeing Jason Momoa and Yahya Abdul-Mateen II just being casual in their everyday wear is certainly refreshing. And of course, it's sweet to see them promoting the other’s project. You can't help but love when Hollywood stars not only love working together but also take time to support one another.

Of course, Jason Momoa was his usual chill self and couldn’t help but threw a nod to Aquaman and Black Manta. And in Instagram fashion, Yahya Abdul-Mateen II seemed to be caught off guard as Momoa’s camera started rolling. Candid camera moments are the best and, in this case, it made the video feel more like a casual meeting between friends than a paid promotion.

Yahya Abdul-Mateen II’s horror vehicle, Candyman, may surpass industry expectations during its opening weekend. The horror sequel was originally expected to make $15 million, but its Thursday night box office total may signal a larger box office take. Exceeding box office expectations isn’t just a good sign for the film but Abdul-Mateen as well. Candyman marked the first time the actor has led a big-budget film, so it could mark a further shift in The Trial of the Chicago 7 star’s career. And on top of the solid box office start, the film has also earned a mostly positive critical reception so far.

While Abdul-Mateen is holding down the film front, Jason Momoa is coming for television viewers. Momoa has been hyping See Season 2 for months now. Things were taken up a notch when his Dune co-star, Dave Bautista, joined the second season. He even praised Bautista’s performance in the Apple TV+ drama. Hopefully, viewers will find the second season as enjoyable and intense as the first.

Jason Momoa on See

Hopefully, Jason Momoa and Yahya Abdul-Mateen II’s Instagram promotion will help push their projects over the top, though they do have strong followings as is. Still, maybe the two actors will team up on social media again to give fans an update on Aquaman 2.

Ahead of Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom's release on December 16, 2022, fans can head to theaters to watch Yahya Abdul-Mateen deal with his past in Candyman. And after that, they can see Jason Momoa deal with a deadly family dispute in the premiere episode of See Season 2 on Apple TV+.
