After a rough year of delays, a number of highly anticipated comic book projects are currently filming. On the DC side of things, this includes James Wan’s return to the shared universe with Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom. Mera actress Amber Heard is seemingly on set with the rest of the cast, and she looks thoroughly exhausted by the movie’s mysterious contents.

Producing a superhero project is no easy feat, with dizzying action sequences, fight choreography, stunts and the like. James Wan used cutting edge wire work and visual effects to give the first Aquaman movie a feeling of weightlessness underwater, and moviegoers can’t wait to see what he’s got planned for the sequel. Amber Heard looks like she’s working hard on The Lost Kingdom, sharing the following photo:

Celebrities, they’re just like us. It looks like Amber Heard is getting some insane workouts in, while working on Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom’s various fight scenes. And I think we can all relate to the feeling of collapsing after exerting yourself physically. We’ll just have to wait and see what action Mera gets into in the upcoming DC sequel.

The above image comes to us from Amber Heard’s personal Instagram account. In it we see her in activewear, lying down out of exhaustion on some blue mats. The caption reads “Another day at the office,” poking fun at how unique the job of being an actor is. Of course, her Aquaman co-stars like Jason Momoa and Patrick Wilson are likely feeling about the same as they dive back into the DCEU.

DC fans can re-watch Amber Heard’s time in the DCEU so far on HBO Max. You can use this link to sign up for the streaming service.

Amber Heard has been extremely busy lately, becoming a mother just months before Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom began principal photography. But she’s seemingly been keeping in top top shape ahead of reprising Mera on the big screen. Although it looks like James Wan and company are definitely testing that theory while rehearsing action scenes.

It should be interesting to see exactly what James Wan has up his sleeve for Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom. While the Trench spinoff cancelled, Wan should be able to put his full focus on the Aquaman sequel. And with production underway, hopefully we’ll get some concrete information about the project sooner rather than later.

Prior to Aquaman 2, Amber Heard reprised her signature DCEU role for Zack Snyder’s Justice League reshoots. Mera was present for the new Knightmare sequence, teasing Snyder’s plans for the character in the Justice League sequels. Now she'll be back in the main canon of the DCEU for Jason Momoa’s second solo flick.

Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom is currently expected to arrive in theaters on December 16th, 2022. In the meantime, check out the 2021 movie release dates to plan your next movie experience.
