After a year of delays, the film industry has seemingly bounced back-- and a number of highly anticipated blockbusters are currently in production. This includes James Wan’s Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom, which will see the hulking actor Jason Momoa reprise his role as Arthur Curry. And another Aquaman 2 actor is getting ripped ahead of filming with the Game of Thrones icon: Patrick Wilson aka Ocean Master.

Patrick Wilson made his DCEU debut in the first Aquaman movie, playing Arthur Curry’s antagonist brother Orm. Rather than being killed off, Orm was taken in by Jason Momoa’s title character, opening the door for more appearances. Wilson has been getting jacked for his next DC appearance, check out the video proof below.

I don’t know about you, but it looks like Patrick Wilson is ready to kick ass and take names in Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom. It’s unclear how his signature villain will factor into the story, but the Watchmen actor is looking swole ahead of his return to Atlantis.

The above video comes to us from Patrick Wilson’s personal Instagram account. As the caption reveals, he’s been training for months to play Orm/Ocean Master. Considering the extensive wirework and action sequences he’s sure to engage in, this makes a great deal of sense.

DC fans can re-watch the original Aquaman on HBO Max. You can use this link to sign up for the streaming service.

Patrick Wilson in Aquaman's final scene

Of course, Patrick Wilson isn’t the only Aquaman actor who is getting into tip top shape to film The Lost Kingdom. Amber Heard has been posting a ton of videos as she trained to play Mera once again. So while Jason Momoa might be the muscle of the operation, it’s clear that the entire cast is training hard for the DC sequel.

The contents of Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom are a mystery, but filmmaker Jason Wan did plant a few narrative seeds at the end of the original movie. In addition to the return of Orm, the credits scene revealed that Black Manta was alive, and had a new ally in Randall Park’s Doctor Stephen Shin.

DC fans are thrilled that director Jason Wan is back behind the camera for Aquaman’s sequel. The horror legend used innovative technology to give the cast a weightless appearance for underwater scenes. And while the Trench spinoff has been scrapped, there’s no telling how he’ll expand that corner of the DCEU.

Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom is currently expected to arrive in theaters on December 16th, 2022. In the meantime, check out the 2021 movie release dates to plan your next movie experience.
