No movie is perfect, and while it has a score of 90% on Rotten Tomatoes and went on to gross $1.153 billion at the box office, Captain America: Civil War is no exception. There are probably some of you out there that can't begin to consider where Civil War goes wrong. Thankfully, the good folks over at Cinema Sins have created a video that picks out exactly where Captain America: Civil War does just that, and you can watch it in all of it glory below.
Who knew there was so much wrong with Captain America: Civil War? According to Cinema Sins, not only is the film's plot completely nonsensical, with Helmut Zemo (Daniel Bruhl)'s plan relying on several incidents that are completely out of his control in order to work, but it in the end it actually doesn't do too much damage to The Avengers after all.
Sure, War Machine comes away from the action a little banged up and struggling to walk and The Winter Soldier's metal arm is torn off, but Helmut Zemo's intention was to irreparably wreck The Avengers. While Iron Man and Captain America undoubtedly get into a tiff over the Sokovia Accords and then the revelation that The Winter Soldier killed Tony Stark's parents, by the end of Civil War they have basically kissed and made up.
However, there are even more problems to Captain America: Civil War. This includes the blockbuster's action scenes from its directors Anthony and Joe Russo, which Cinema Sins insists continues the depressingly fast-edited and hollow sequences that have repeatedly popped up in the genre over the last 12 months. Sure, they look cool, but there's something very placid about Civil War's action that not even the debut of Tom Holland's Spider-Man and the always charming presence of Paul Rudd can save.
Cinema Sins also rightfully points out that Civil War should basically have boiled down to a fight between Scarlet Witch (Elizabeth Olsen) and Vision (Paul Bettany), as they are clearly the most powerful characters in the Avengers posse. Instead, the Vision spends most of the film wandering around looking like a male model that's wearing preposterously classy attire. As for Scarlet Witch, she mopes around after she causes the death of several Wakandan humanitarian workers in Lagos during the opening scene, but appears to have already forgotten about the death of her brother, Quicksilver, in Age Of Ultron.
Other than these faults Captain America: Civil War is still pretty dope. The problem is you probably won't be able to watch it now without immediately spotting them.
